Stockport Flats is the northernmost of the four sites in the Hudson River National Estuarine Research Reserve.

Stockport Flats offers hiking along freshwater wetlands and historic ruins of the Scott ice house at Nutten Hook, once the largest ice house on the Hudson. Visitors can access Hudson River Islands State Park via boat from the boat launches within Stockport Flats.

Located just north of the town of Hudson, Stockport Flats provides an important site for wetland research and monitoring as well as preserving historic and natural resources. Visitors can learn about the historic ice harvesting industry through interpretive panels along the trail to the Scott ice house. Enjoy picnicking at the ice house itself or at an accessible gazebo with a river view.

Accessible only by boat, Hudson River Islands State Park facilities are concentrated on the islands of Gay’s Point and Stockport Middle Ground. These islands are fragile communities with many rare and endangered plant and animal species. Hudson River Islands State Park is a day use only facility and camping is not permitted.
