As part of its stewardship function HRNERR has developed a Habitat Restoration Plan that includes the following objectives:
- Selected high priority invasive species are managed at Reserve sites to restore and maintain natural communities.
- Ecologically-based shoreline erosion control techniques are applied to enhance shoreline function at Reserve sites.
- Secondary channel restoration is implemented where possible to restore or improve vegetated shallow and intertidal habitats.
